I feel real bad for Syndie! She has been chased down and tackled by a nasty flu bug. She has been experiencing the full range of all the wonderful flu symptoms. She will be out of commission for a while so if she has not responded to calls and email that’s why. I have been using lots of Lysol trying to keep the rest of us from the germs.

The last couple of nights I have been having a terrible time getting to sleep at night even though I have been very tired. I knew I was going to have some trouble readjusting back to my early work schedule (up at 4 am) after a week of not doing it but it should not have been as hard as it was! Well tonight I was making my standard after supper pot of de-caff coffee when I notice the package was not de-caff!! The new coffee we purchased at Sam’s Club has identical bags for the regular and de-caff except for a little spot where it says de-caff in small letters. I guess it was too much for them to have a completely different color bag. So now that I caught on I hope to off to la-la land quicker tonight.

Here at the Best household we are looking for ways to streamline and downsize our budget to free up more money to give away to Kingdom Causes. We just had the cable guy here to downgrade our cable package and now we are considering some changes in our phone service. I am interested in hearing feedback from anyone who might read this blog and has tried or uses Vonage VOIP phone service (USA). Any feedback good or bad I would love to here via a blog comment.
It was nice to sleep in today after a late night out last night at the Pistons game. (Good game tobe at!) I am taking today and tomorrow off as a couple of vacation days, while school is out at OLGC for the week. Not a whole lot played other than being with my family and trying to relax.
Last night the whole family watched the Disney movie,”Glory Road”. It was a true story about the coach and players from Southwestern University in El Paso, TX. It shows their battle to be the first team in NCAA to play African-american players for more than “token” minutes. They had an incredible season and ending up winning the national title against basketball giant University of Kentucky. The players and coach had to battle against predjudice and racesism that was rampant at that time in the USA. The movie was quite moving as it showed the real life struggles the coach and players delt with in order for justice to prevail.
Earlier this week I was asked by a faculty member of our kids school to consider running for the position of School PTA President. She felt I would be a good person to be in the position. I am excited about the possibility and plan to see how things play out. Syndie and I have been praying for a long time for God to place us where we can be used to make the world a better place.
