It has been a while but this year I have decided to go to two conferences/gatherings. I went to a lot of this type of thing before when i was on staff at churches but I have been for a few years now.
The two things I will be a part of are, MI Organic Church Greenhouse
and Everything Must Change/Deep Shift.
The Greenhouse will be this weekend in Grand Rapids and the Deep Shift will be in Goshen Indiana the weekend of May 9th.
Both of these events will give me time to hang with some friends from across MI from Tapestry
I am most forward to meeting people and making contacts in MI and the Mid-west.
Earlier this week Syndie and I had the opportunity to be a part of a City of Westland presentation for curbside recycling. Newspaper details This was our first time to see several of the council members other that councilmen Godbout who chairs the recycling committee. The conference room was packed out for the meeting. The room exceeded the the large placard on the wall that said maximum occupancy 30. The council voted to go ahead and hire a consulting firm to do a full and complete study which we were very happy for. The one thing thing that always amazes me is the "fringe" people things like this attract. I has always thought it only happened in church politic circles but apparently it happens anywhere there is an open mike.

All the kids have been off of school this past week for mid-winter break. Tomorrow they take the plunge back into school and all of or normal family routines.
Sam had a second appointment with an orthopedic doctor this past week. She was supposed to have her first cast removed and a second cast put on. After examination by the doctor he determined that she had healed sufficiently and would not need a second cast. This was great news to Sam because she was tired of having to wrap her arm in a garbage bag in order to take a shower.
Emily is excited about her invitation to the Junior Honor Society. She will find out next week if her application was accepted. We also received a packet from school with a bumper sticker saying, "My child is a honor roll student at Stevenson Middle School". She has done a great job in Middle School and we have been very proud of her.
JJ is ready for winter to be over. He is eagerly anticipating playing competitive softball again. A couple days a go he begged me to come outside and pitch him a few balls. We were able to endure for about 20 minutes before the sun started going down and the temperature dropping.
They are all good kids and I can’t believe how fast they are growing up.
We know only too well that what we are doing is nothing more than a
drop in the ocean. But if the drop were not there, the ocean would be
missing something.

We have recently tried the new Green Works products from Clorox. These new products work very well and have a great scent. Give it a try and help make the world a little better.

(BTW) I found this on the back of a juice box at work.
I am very glad that today went by fast! The first day back after a lengthy time off is always a doozy. I am so glad that it did not snow this morning that would have been to much for my first day back.
